Anonymous asked: Do you know if cummings' poem, "you shall above all things..." is in the public domain? I am working on a book for educators and want to us the poem's last two lines to provoke thinking about professional practice. The publisher/editor has warned me against using any poetry unless it is in the public domain because it is so challenging and so expensive to get permission to use poetry otherwise. So far, I have not been able to find the poem and am disheartened because it so perfectly embodies a reawakening in an educator's soul.
I have absolutely no idea. I would think probably not, but I’ll put this out to the tumblr world to see if anyone knows about the public domain better than I. (The poem in question is here.)
